Sandra – The final Midnight Clubber who’s more of a listener than a storyteller. Spence – The joker of the group and Kevin’s roommate. Kevin – Ilonka’s crush who she believes she has an extremely deep connection with. Ilonka – Our main character who’s dreaming about past lives.Īnya – Ilonka’s roommate and the star of the book, in my opinion. I’ve enjoyed all three Pike books I’ve read so far, so I’m hoping this will continue the trend. The blurb isn’t giving too much away either it doesn’t even sound like horror tbh. Unfortunately for me, most of my Pike books are these boring black covers, but oh well it’s about what’s inside, right? I wanted to read this because it’s Netflix adaption is due out in October this year, and I always prefer to read the book before watching the show/movie whenever I can help it!įrom the cover I would assume that the book is about an evil clock, but surely that can’t be right. The book ended on such note that I wondered if I'd missed something.Back tagline: The most exclusive club around Reading about it in this book written a decade earlier was-it felt so present, and still is. It's now called Death With Dignity and was voted in Washington State, my state, in 2008. Another character's end-of-life decision is discussed soon after. It seems like an odd judgment to make, but I've never been in that situation. The protagonist wonders if that's why she was never able to tell a story and.maybe, maybe not. On page 190 of the edition I read, Sandra's condition changes, to describe it as mild-spoiler as possible.
The "I belong to you" hug ritual was a little weird at first, but once the kids started dying, I understood as much as I could.
The second is in chapter seven, and was sad in a different way. The first kid to die does so in chapter five, and it's indeed sad. The premise of the book doesn't show up until page seventy-five of the book I was reading: that they suggest trying to contact one another in the afterlife. There's little discussion of the terminal diseases of each teen. This book isn't spooky it's-the way it was written makes it clear these are teenagers who find solace in mildly creepy stories.
